Finding Eco-Friendly Cars For A Better Environment

Finding Eco-Friendly Cars For A Better Environment

The important elements that contribute towards harming the environment are the gases that are emitted from the vehicles. Besides the fact that those gases pollute the environment and contribute towards global warming, they also cause smog and harmful diseases. The most important topic under discussion is to find a way to control the emission of the harmful gases. To overcome this issue, it is best to find eco-friendly and fuel-efficient cars. These cars decrease the release of harmful air and give the same performance given by the cars on diesel or petrol.

Automakers across the globe are working hard to produce the improved models to reduce greenhouse gases in the environment. Eco-friendly cars are flux fuel models, hybrid and electric cars. Hybrid and electric cars are playing a major part in reducing the environmental pollution with lesser fuel consumption.

Most popular hybrid car of today is Honda Civic, Honda Insight and Toyota Prius. The suggested level for a passenger should be 5.5 metrics tons of carbon dioxide and these hybrid models are producing only 4.1, 3.5 and 3.5 tons respectively.

With the constant rise in the fuel rates and increase in air pollution, people are preferring electric cars. They have now become the most desired mode of transportation. The most famous electric cars are Audi A8, BMW 5 Series, Toyota RAV4-EV, Nissan LEAF, Honda EV Plus and Nissan ALTRA EV.

In today’s advanced and modernized era, every automaker is making developments in producing hybrid or electric vehicles to promote eco-friendly and fuel-efficient cars across the globe. It is obvious that these cars are costly and unaffordable but people are now understanding that switching to new alternatives is high in cost but absolutely worth it. With the technology that we have, we must balance the climatic standards along with the standards of living. Today, hybrid vehicles are offered at reasonable rates in Japan.  Many car exporters in Japan are now providing fuel efficient and top quality vehicles at cheaper prices. Try opting for an electric or hybrid car, you won’t regret it!

Ultimate Winter Weather EV Work In Progress

Ultimate Winter Weather EV Work In Progress

Electric vehicles are no wonder highly efficient and eco-friendly but its systems can quite often struggle in the cold weather. However, the green-minded drivers in the north side of Japanese island Hokkaido have the perfect electric vehicle which is suitable for areas with cold climates. According to the Japanese Times, altogether eight automakers are working collaboratively to create the perfect model but it is still in the early stage of its process.

Until now, the automakers have a small, one-person EV prototype, but at least it is a sign of progress as to what they are planning to achieve. The vehicle has a rear-wheel drive while driving normally but they lose traction, all-wheel-drive system kicks in. the interior of the EV also features added insulation to retain the heat.

However, there are some features of this EV which makes it even more special but are fairly limited. The translation work of this vehicle is done by Hokkaido EV Research and Development Utilization Project. The vehicle may not be pretty but it is a pretty clear and smooth drive and is known to be the ultimate winter-weather electric vehicle.

Japan Approves Usage Of Cameras Instead Of Mirrors

Japan Approves Usage Of Cameras Instead Of Mirrors

Safety demands a good and clear view of the area around a car. Usually bigger mirror means better views to the driver but they can be a pain for the driver too. With the improvement in the vision through from the side and rear views, they are prone to be damaged by the passing vehicles, drive-through car washes, and garage doors. Automakers now incorporate video cameras for safer, efficient and better-looking views.

Japan approves the use of cameras in vehicles after meeting some certain specifications. The approval came in 2015 by the UN World Forum of Vehicle Regulations for the replacement of mirrors with video cameras.

A company known as Ichikoh is developing systems to sell their plans to the automakers. The CEO of Ichikoh, Ali Ordoobadi, says that “it is a new segment with higher content and that means higher profit for the business.” Moreover, the CEO said that “it is an upcoming trend and we have to be in front of the others.”

Bosch has already incorporated the use of video display system in their commercial trucks. The video systems are built into the A-pillars of the vehicle.  Cadillac CT6 also features a video display for its rear view.

Video displays tend to be safer as far as the safety issues are concerned. The cameras can be fixed anywhere in the car to provide a clear and better view of blind spots. Video displays are more aerodynamic, efficient and lighter as compared to the external mirrors. Keeping a mirrorless vehicle helps automakers achieve emission standards and fuel efficiency targets.

It is highly expected that with the passage of time, many governments will allow the replacement of mirrors with the live video display in the near future.

Is Your Car Ready For The Winter Season?

Is Your Car Ready For The Winter Season?

We may not get extreme winter weather conditions but it still gets chilly and cold. Here are a few ways to prepare your car for the chilly winds of winter. The tips are easy, simple, less stressful and safer for the season.  Here is what you need to do:

Check your car battery

If your car battery is five years old, it’s time to replace it. According to AA, 5 years is an average life of a car battery. Visit your local garage to get it checked. Also, don’t forget to check the battery terminals. If there is any corrosion, get it cleaned or have it checked by a professional.

 Clean your windows

Make sure that the windows of your car are clean inside out without any cracks in the glass. The combination of dirt and snow can make driving really difficult in the cold weather.

Clean your lights

Ensure indicators, brake lights and fog lights are all clean so that you know where you are going and people can also see where you are headed.

Tires condition and their fitting

Check your vehicle tires for any fault such as splits or cracks. Moreover, don’t forget to check the tire pressure. If it requires topping up, get them pumped from any gas station. Changing the set of tires for the winter season is actually ideal. New tires give your car a stronger grip which makes driving smooth and safer on wet and chilly roads.

Clean wiper blades

Winter season brings a lot of grime on your windscreen, so make sure that you carefully check the wiper blades for any cracks or splits.

 Don’t forget your phone charger

Avoid any unnecessary fuss and always keep your phone charger with you. You don’t want to run out of your phone battery in the middle of the cold weather. Another lifesaving tip is to jot down your mechanic phone number on a paper and keep it in your car in case your phone isn’t working. At least you’ll have the number to contact and get help.

Get a new car cover

A car cover will keep the fluids in your car from freezing. Car covers aren’t only to protect the exterior of the car, they also keep the interior safe and operational too.

Petty things to do:

Double check the level of the liquid in your vehicle and always keep them full in case of emergencies. The coolant level of your car must be between min and max mark. If the needle is at an extreme end, your vehicle requires a mechanic.

Don’t forget to check the level of oil in your car as it should also be between the min and max mark.

Your vehicle would require more screen wash in winter because of to all the dirt around, so make sure to use proper screen wash instead of just water, to avoid freezing.
