Hey guys I dropped the transmission fluid and put new filters and a gasket on the transmission pan of my 04 ram 4x4 with the 5.7. I also upgraded the pan style to one with a drain plug. My question is I did not use OEM filters and now it seems like every once in awhile it will shift hard from 1st to 2nd and occasionally die out when coming to a complete stop. I'm going to get my license soon and I've been looking at old Sportsmans for a while (specifically the shorty B200s or B100s). I love the classic look of the '71-78 model, but I'm wondering what the differences are between it and the '79-93 model. I'm guessing the suspension hasn't changed, and I know that the three-speed manual was dropped. But other than that, are there many differences between the model years? Thanks! -T

Ok I'm new at this so bare with me. I am not sure the size they are stock, or the number of leafs that are supposed to be there it could be missing one, I wouldn't know because there are breaks in the brackets that hold them together... I live in upstate New York where they put salt on roads and that is hell on vehicles.... In winter I usually average about 14 l/100km in my van. Last few weeks it has gone to 20L/100km and I used a half tank of gas in one week with minimal driving. Hello new guy here first post i just got this 04 1500 and the first time i attempted to use 4lo getting backed into my driveway after a snow storm (trailer park dirt access road that swallows vehicles ) and heard one heck of a ker-bang and the next day I looked under and saw that the front driver outer CV had shot grease all through the rim and wheel well area so i got the duralast replacement cv (came with new retaining nut) and went to work on removing the toasted axle. Had to swap motors on my journey sxt awd with a 3.5l. Got the motor swapped and the newer one is running good. After the motor swap my can will not shift out of 1st gear. Anyone have any ideas on why this would happen. Was shifting fine before the swap

Just put cam and crank sensor in my 07 2.7l and redid the connectors to both and it still doesn't wanna run for more than 5 seconds yet will run decent with cam sensor unplugged. I think timing has jumped but I wanna see what other people think.

I've put a little over 1700 miles on it and in the time i've owned it I've had to put roughly 9qts of oil in it. I've checked the PCV and the check valve moves freely. Is there anything else simple I could check or is it probably something more serious? I owe quite a bit on this truck still and I really don't want to have to shell out for a new motor or anything.
