1950 Mercury

Finally, a car that we have been working on for the past 8 months can be revealed!

Over the next few weeks I will release some details behind the build of this truly exceptional vehicle. With awesome metal work and paint completed by Andy's Restorations in Sydney this car is a world class custom vehicle.

Renner Auto was responsible for taking the car from a painted chassis and body to a completed vehicle. We had the developing some special parts such as custom curved glass, all electrical and fuel systems, water methanol injection, custom front and rear lights, and numerous CNC parts and carbon fibre cabin structures.

The engine, a Keith Black ProCharged Hemi, was built by Websters Dyno and Performance.

With a full custom interior and all metal parts plated in 24 carat gold this is a car that will be hard to beat.

The new workshop was perfect for the creation of this car and we were able to keep it under wraps until its launch at the Sydney Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo.

Restoration Project: 1961 Jaguar MK2 Complete!

Seeing it all come together.

We’re all finished up with our restoration of this beautiful Jaguar MK2. This car came to us in pretty good shape, driving well, but just looking a bit tired. Time for a complete Mark 2 makeover! The car was completely stripped down and painted in the beautiful Royal Blue you see now. The engine has been fully rebuilt, the transmission converted from automatic to 4-speed with overdrive, all the wood has been refinished, and all the upholstery completely replaced and restored in a gorgeous light-tan.

The Jaguar MK2 is one of the most beautiful Jaguars ever built and one of the highest-quality cars they ever made. Lots of work goes into restoring one of these, but at the end of the day, it’s all worth it as you end up with a historic piece of automotive art. Over the years, we’ve repaired and restored quite a few MK2s and each project has been equally rewarding. Our fearless leader Peter Jurgens is himself the proud owner of an immaculate 1961 Mark 2.

The interior really came back to life!

A project like this takes the talents of many people who work here in-house as well as many others with whom we’ve worked and built reputations for years. Restoration Project: 1953 MG TD Complete!

Quite the transformation.

We just finished up another successful MG restoration! This time it’s a 1953 MG TD that has been with a family for many years and has tremendous sentimental value. The car was in rough shape when it arrived here at British Sports Cars; it had been off the road for a very long time. We have done a couple restoration updates on this car as we’ve been in the process of restoring it so please take a look at those to get a little more of the back story and see exactly what we’ve accomplished.

The car came out beautiful, restored back to just how the family remembers it. We had lots of challenges along the way as the car was in rough shape. As you can see by the finished product, it was all worth the effort and we can’t wait to get the car back to the family so they can get many more years of enjoyment out of it. When projects have the added dimension of sentimental value like this, it makes our work all the more rewarding.

The interior turned out great.
