The Northern California vintage racing season got off to a predictably rocky start last weekend at the 2018 CSRG David Love Memorial at Sonoma Raceway. Heavy rains Friday made for a treacherous track on Saturday, but the sun eventually came out and things dried up, making for some great racing on Sunday. The competition was friendly as always, sometimes a bit fierce, and featured some of the best vintage race cars around.
The British contingent was out in force all weekend, highlighted by a Sunday Group 1 victory and an incredible lineup of legendary cars. We’ve got dozens of photos that put you right on track for the non-stop action.
We put our GoPro on Tim Barnes’ 1951 Jaguar XK120 for a little race-along adventure. Ever wondered what it would be like to go all out for a few laps in an XK120? Enjoy the ride.
Special thanks to CSRG for keeping vintage racing at its highest level!
And now, here’s a bunch of photos we took over the weekend.
