Maintaining Your Customers’ Trust

Expand Your Service Toolkit at the Automotive Aftermarket’s Premier Event: Aapex

As a service professional, you understand the importance of building and preserving trust with your clients. Vehicle owners count on you to keep them on the road—and you count on comprehensive knowledge to keep them safe. At the aftermarket industry’s premier event, you’ll access the up-to-date information you need to expand that expertise.

In 2018, AAPEX rolls out its most robust education programs yet, with forward-thinking, innovation-focused areas at the forefront. The full schedule is available at aapexshow.com, but here’s a closer look at some of this year’s most exciting offerings:

AAPEX ADAS Forum—Servicing ADAS-Enabled Vehicles

A growing number of technologies and products can be installed on millions of vehicles to significantly increase safety functionality as well as new business potential. However, at times, defective or poorly calibrated ADAS sensors create a suboptimal or even dangerous experience. Attendees dive deep into preparing for the opportunities and risks of maintaining ADAS equipped vehicles.

Service Professionals General Session Automotive Career Pathways: The Road to Great Technicians

Current and future technicians need to see a clear pathway for a rewarding career. In this panel discussion, attendees learn their role in building a competent workforce, how the education model is moving toward one that is competency based, and how to ensure technicians stay in the industry. The AAPEX 2018 Service Professionals Program is sponsored by MAHLE Aftermarket. Be sure to visit them at booth 2661.

Grand Opening Keynote — Breakfast With John King and Karl Rove: How Trade and the Elections Could Impact the Aftermarket

During this ticketed keynote event, CNN Chief National Correspondent John King discusses the upcoming midterm elections and the impact they could have on Washington, D.C. Political strategist Karl Rove focuses on the global impact of President Donald Trump’s imposed and proposed tariffs, as well as how the tariffs potentially levied by foreign countries may affect U.S. businesses.

Self-Paced Learning

Fast-track lessons take the stage at Let’s Tech, where 20-minute presentations highlight the emerging technologies used in products, tools and mobile apps that support various segments of the automotive aftermarket.

For a more immersive experience, AAPEX Mobility Garage demonstrates the cutting-edge technology leading to advancements for motorists and service repair professionals alike.

At Mobility Garage 1, which focuses on Shop Equipment and Technology, AVI presents underhood training featuring hands-on, expert-led demos of the latest scan tool technology and the methods required for accurate diagnostics. Sessions break down how each new system works, giving participants skills that can immediately benefit their day-to-day business. There will also be an exhibitor and product area to discover new products.

In addition to the high-caliber training along with an exhibitor and product area, hands-on demos—including the Virtual Vehicle Challenge, where parts can be virtually placed inside a vehicle—offer you the ability to try products for yourself.

Mobility Garage 2, presented by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), focuses on advancing the technician’s capacity in a growing category in the automotive industry: electric and alternative fuel.

See It Here First at Aapex

Groundbreaking new products are a main attraction at AAPEX, and 2018 won’t disappoint. Attendees can preview products that have yet to hit the market at AAPEX Technology of Tomorrow. Some items showcased are so new that they’re still in prototype stage, but all show where technology is headed so you can prepare for the future. Stop by the Secure Vehicle Interface (SVI) Booth (#31021) to be among the first to experience SVI, an internationally standardized technical design that provides access to the In-Vehicle Networks (IVN) for access to operational, maintenance and driver behavioral data.

There will also be thousands of new products that are available right now on-site, with exhibitors providing demonstrations on new innovations, trends, products and packaging throughout the event. Stop by at the New Products and Packaging Showcases located in the Venetian Hallway, Level 2, to see more than 200 of the latest innovations. Know Your Parts will be on hand as well, assisting technicians in accessing KYPTechLine.com, which features videos of technical and repair demonstrations by the aftermarket’s top suppliers.
