Cause

These conditions may be caused by water leaking into the vehicle causing terminal corrosion at inline connector X 350. This connector is not sealed

off from the inside of the vehicle and if a leak is present, water may eventually enter the connector causing the terminals to become corroded.

Correction

1. Disconnect the separate fuel tank harness connectors that connect to the underside of the X 350 connector. For the location of X 350, refer to

> Power and Signal Distribution > Wiring Systems and Power Management > Component Locator > Master Electrical Component List >

Code > X 350 in SI.

2. Inspect the terminals of these connectors for any corrosion, intermittent conditions and poor connections. Refer to testing for Intermittent

Conditions and Poor Connections in SI.

瀚慖f the terminals show any sign of corrosion, determine the source of the water leak. Repair the leak as necessary, Refer to > General

Information > Water Leaks > Diagnostic Information and Procedures in SI.

3. Replace the fuel tank harness to body harness pass-thru CONNECTOR with the new SEALED DESIGN CONNECTOR P/N 19178098.

4. Replace the connector terminals with terminals P/N 12047581 and P/N 12034047 found in the J 38125 Terminal Repair Kit. Refer to >

Power and Signal Distribution > Wiring Systems and Power Management > Diagnostic Information and Procedures in SI.

5. Inspect the mating fuel tank wiring harness connector terminals for any sign of corrosion.

瀚慖f the mating fuel tank wiring harness connector terminals show any sign of corrosion, replace the wiring harness.
