I have a 99 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 9.25 rear in 3.92 gear. This is my first time redoing my axle and tear down went pretty easy. I changed the races and bearings on the axle and the pinion but I'm stuck, I tried tightening the pinion nut but my torque wrench reads 220lbs already when it clicks and the pinion still slides in and out alittle bit. The pinion pre load is not even at 10 in lbs either yet it is very very difficult to turn and it's bending the tools that are meant for it...
