'73 D100 suspension lowering

I know there is a sticky at the top of the forum and many posts about using the B series van lower control arms on the D100 to achieve a lowered stance on the truck, most is not all posts have made reference to members pulling parts from the yards and using them on their trucks. My question is would it not be cheaper and more practical to buy new lower control arms for the B series vans from Mopar parts providers for approx. $30 each with ball joint?
