Poor Acceleration problem

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 9.5 I have had for 23 years. I had been taking it to the same shop since I had it. I recently started going to a shop closer to me, hoping to avoid the one hour drive. Everytime I go in for something I come out with some new problem. Get the AC serviced, start up and there is a clanging noise. You need a new starter. Take in to check why the reverse gear clanks loudly when being put in reverse.
