Help! 78 LRE choke wiring.

I continue to try to fix the things that I find wrong on my LRE and today I noticed that some brain truss wired the electric choke to the ignition power side of the coil. When I checked the voltage at the choke wire I am getting around 6 volts which I don't believe is adequate to fully open the choke. I have read NUMEROUS suggestions on where this power should come from. Does anyone have the actual diagram? By the way, the carb has been replaced somewhere in the last 43 years and is not...
