5.9 4x4 swap 5.2 2wd

So my buddy has a 5.2 2wd truck that he wrecked and he found a cheap 5.9 4x4 truck with a bad motor. He wants to put his 5.2 into it and keep the 4x4. Is this financially responsible? What all do we need to do this? I figure motor and trans mounts should line up?? Computer? Btw not a dodge guy so I'm not that knowledgeable but I do know the 2 motors are very similar.
