1999 5.9L Magnum upgrade

Hello all, I have a 1999 Dodge 1500 4X4 with the 5.9L Magnum, auto transmission. This truck is our hunting and fishing vehicle and has an older Starlight pop-up camper on it. We rebuilt the suspension with 3" lift, airbags and 33" tires. The truck is in great shape and we want to keep it long term. We want to beef up the 5.9L so that we can tow our largest boat without issues. Looking for suggestions to try to get about 50 more hp out of it without going overboard. Thanks

98 Ram van 5.2 lost power.

Van was running fine then a engine light came on. Was barely able to drive it home 2-3 miles. Would only get to about 5 mph. Will still crank and idle but will not rev up, sounds like it's starving for air. Checked codes P0300 multi misfire. Cyl 1,2,4 &7 codes. 5 codes total, all misfires. Fuel pressure good(about 50 psi). Put new distributor cap & button, wires & plugs. New coil pack. Just after a crank test, I pulled # 7 (1 /w a code)plug and is was soaking wet. I'm lost on what to check... 98 Ram van 5.2 lost power.

2003 dodge 1500 4.7 SLT

yes I have a 2003 ram 1500 I just put a new user 4.7 motor in it and it ran fine third day and my alternator started winning so I put my old alternator back in now the motor won't start and as soon as I turn the key to the on position the voltage gage goes to zero and it just turns over does anyone have any ideas

04 hemi idles 500-1000-500 and dies

Ok guys just put a new rebuilt 5.7 eng in last week, new knock sensor,oil psi, cam sensor , factory mopar parts . Jba headers orileys fuel injectors and map sensor , doorman intake manifold and new throttle body, coils packs champion plugs, and new wires Got the truck to start and it will not idle but will run at 1200 rpms and up . Checked the fuel psi at the rail and I have 60 psi . Today I got a p138 so changed the o2 sensor b1s2 and b1s1 that cleared up my code but the... 04 hemi idles 500-1000-500 and dies

06 power steering issue

Recently my power steering pump completely went out on my 2006 1500 5.7. I replaced it almost immediately within the next day or so, and bled the system except for the rack. After the new pump was in, about a week later I realized a leak in the oil cooler, and power steering fluid was dripping from one of the cooler lines. Immediately replaced that, but the fluid never went dry. (i must have bent it in a way to cause this because it was badly corroded.) After replacing fluid, pump and cooler... 06 power steering issue

2001 Ram 1500

Son bought a 01 Ram 1500 and has had nothing but transmission issues. He has changed out three already and now on the third when he puts it into reverse the drive shaft spins but the truck creeps. He has changed the governed Solenoid and the code still comes back. Any help will be appreciated.

2500 diesel 1996 what it worth 195,000 mile.

Starts hard first thing in the morning

Hey folks! New Magnum owner here; 05 RT RWD. My magnum starts pretty hard first thing in the morning. Even more so when its cold. In fact, we had a pretty code day last week highs in the 20's and it would not start at all that day. Cycling the key on/off a few times seemed to help it start which I thought would be a fuel pump. Put a new pump in yesterday (drivers side only) and went out today and same thing. Took 4 cycles of the key to get it to start. Of course it runs/starts great after... Starts hard first thing in the morning

So much coolant.....

Hello, I have a 2000 1500 "El Kapitan" conversion V8, current issue is its leaking coolant fluid. BIGTIME... As soon as I refill radiator, you can see it leaving the engine. So far, I have replaced the thermostat, T-stat housing, temp sensor, both upper and lower radiator hoses, and finally the water pump all together with new gasket. Inspected radiator to the best of my ability and found no discrepancies to speak of. HOWEVER, the el rio de coolant from the el kapitano still flows strong. I... So much coolant.....

2003 ram 1500 power steering issue

I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 5.7 SLT, I was driving down a road and my power steering stopped working. It was fine for a few days after I changed the power steering pump twice in a week. I jacked up the front tires and the power steering is great but when I let it down it feels like it is out again. If anyone happens to either know what the issue is or even have a idea or 2 please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Rebuilt transmission and TCM Code wont clear

Major Frustrations 03 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L - 2" Body lift, 33 in tires - Rebuilt the transmission and can not get the tcm code to clear permanently. I will clear the code the truck drives and shifts perfect then after about the 3rd start it will fire with the check engine light on and runs in limp mode. I reset the code and the process starts all over...It will drive great then on the 2nd or 3rd restart engine light again for same TCM code..... I ordered a used TCM from ebay for $200... Rebuilt transmission and TCM Code wont clear

Clicking noise from a part located on front finder inside passanger side

I have this part that is clicking but hasn't effected over all running of motor. I posted a picture of it. It connects to the throttle body. It clicks like crazy. I don't know what it is to find out why and to fix it. Take a look and see if you can tell me what it is and it's purpose is. Thanks

Cross-Country in a 1995 B2500 Van

I'm about to move cross-country (about 3k miles), and my plan is to load a small amount of weight (couple hundred lbs of clothes, tech, no big furniture) into my old van, and then hitch my Caliber to the back (it weights about 3k pounds), on some kind of tow dolly. I know that I need to get the van tuned up before the trip, going to do as much as I can myself (new tires, new brakes, oil change, spark plugs, etc.), and I'll have a mechanic do the alignment. 06 Grand Caravan 3.8

Mil light came on, misfire on cylinder 6. I swapped plug from 6 to 4. No mil light on yet. Cold start continues to miss. Then clears up after a short while. No miss under load throughout full range of gears. Any thoughts?

No heat in rear

New to this forum. I have a 2014 Dodge Durango Limited with the 3.6L and have owned it for 5 years. As the title suggest, I have no heat in the rear. This has been an issue for a while now and I am just getting to this. I checked the blend doors, and the blower is working. I bought a blend door actuator and tested. I then got under the vehicle and felt the lines going to the heater core and there is no heat. I have plenty of coolant, however I could do a flush. Any other ideas as to... No heat in rear

2006-2010 2.7 Dodge Charger

Hello I have a 2009 2.7 Charger that I replaced motor in.. motor came out of a 2007 Charger 2.7. swapped easily but I have a misfire on cylinder 2 and pulse is open.. is the 2009 Charger pcm compatible with 2007 2.7 engine???? Or do I need it programmed.. it's my first dodge swap!

stuck in limp mode

So I replaced my transmission I forgot to fill up the torque converter and when I want to go crank March rogue I got the current mark truck I got the code P0750 and it's stuck in lip mode I reset it by pulling the battery terminals off better domino's off and I'll get it to start barely barely and then it does shortly after Well I can't get my engine running long enough to fill the torque version and everywhere in the transmission that needs to be done so it keeps going back into limp mode I... stuck in limp mode

Caravan mods!!

Sooo I bought a dodge caravan 3.3L v6 with 250 000km for 500$!!! I've brought it camping places I probably shouldn't have… I've pushed it to it's limits and I can't be happier with it! I would like to get another one in better shape but I'd like to mess around with the cheap one first!!! I would like to install a cold air intake and change the exhaust but I also want to program the new changes To make sure everything runs smoothly!!! 4x4 issues

2004 Ram 3500 5.9 ..So im having trouble with my 4x4. I had my Tccm go bad a month ago and i replaced it with a rebuild module from dodge. I put in the new one and now the 4x4 is yet again not working. The lights on the dial come on sometimes but then go out and the serv 4x4 light comes on. Earlier today i turned it on and off with the engine off and had the 2wd light stay on while running only until i shut it off the next time. Anyone have these issues before? Ive read some on it possibly... 4x4 issues

Stay away from Detroit Axle !

I bought 2 CV Axles from them less than a year ago. The outer passenger boot is cracking in 2 places, and both the driver and passenger outer boots are leaking/slinging grease from the outer end of each outer boot. They're replacing the CV Axle with the cracked boot, but they charge $44.25 to ship a replacement. That's more than 1/2 the cost of what they sell a single CV Axle for on eBay! They also refuse to replace or remedy the other one that's leaking grease. The inference is that... Stay away from Detroit Axle !

Recently my 3.8L developed weird symptom where it will run ok under load but when in neutral/park if I depress accelerator above about 1/3 (not overrevving) it starts to miss and pulse badly, worse the more you depress it. To test the neutral RPM issue I put it in low and drove to higher rpm and ran fine under load. No check engine light. Trans swap.

Hello everyone. Recently picked up a 46 Dodge pickup. My wife wont drive stickshift and would like me to put an automatic trans in it. It has the 218 inline 6. Is there a trans swap I can do easy or are we talking complete drivetrain? If so would a flathead 8 cylinder fit under the hood without alot of chopping? Thanks for any help you can give.

Water leak

My 02 Ram 1500 leaks when it rains out. I see water in the track of my rear sliding window ( I did clean the drain holes). But I still get water in the storage area under the rear passenger seat.
