Best Dodge Engine Rebuilder in San Diego or SoCal?

Hello, I am in need of a good mechanic who can do the hard stuff, preferably a Dodge specialist, or at least a mechanic with plenty of experience with Dodge &/or Durango's/Dakota's. Can anyone recommend anyone? I've got the 5.9 4x4 & I am either going to rebuild & build-up the Magnum, or Hemi swap it. I need a good mechanic to work out all the factors for what will be the best for my applications.

Dodge Ram B3500 van - front end recovery points

I have a 1995 Dodge B3500 RV conversion van (a Leisure Travel Freedom Widebody). I would like to add solid recovery points (such as tow hooks or shackles) on the front end of this heavy vehicle so that if I get stuck while light boondocking I can hook up a tow strap or chain with a hand winch to pull it loose. I have looked everywhere online for B3500 front end tow hook kits or in fact ANY suggestions on how to add recovery points for the front end of a B3500 van. I am avoiding the front... 92 Dakota instrument cluster

I have a 92 Dakota LE 5,2L Auto.. My instrument cluster stopped working. I have a speedo and odometer but the tach, oil pressure, fuel, temperature and voltage gauges all stopped working. I checked all my fuses and they all checked out my question now is is there a ground for all that cluster and where is it located?

Tiny metal pieces found in transmission pan of replacement teansmission

On the way home, on a 1000 trip. I lost every gear forward of 2nd. It would nutural about 4 in D, unless I stepped on the gas them it would accelerate but let off and no longer pulled. Fluid was burnt and the filter on the return side in the pan had come off.. pretty sure it burnt the clutches.. I got a replacement at pull a part,, and found a couple tiny fragments of metal in the pan.. it's a 545rfe I'm assuming came from the reactin planet or housing in the revelers by matching the pieces... 92 Dodge d150 gear selector indicator

Hello new to The forum, been searching for a gear selector indicator for my 92 Dodge d150 anybody has one please contact me. I have my original but the string is broken is there any way to repair that it is riveted shut didn't know if I could cut those rivets and restring it or do I need a new one. Thank you in advance

09 grand caravan se 3.3l no crank

So I noticed some leaking around my valve covers. Ordered and replaced valve cover gaskets and intake gaskets also did an oil change. Drove to work everything fine, on my way home which is not a far distance I stopped to drop off a coworker van stalled come to find out I didn't plug my temperature sensor in all the way fixed it. I decided that day to replace spark plugs. Number 3 cylinder had to be rethreaded at just the beginning of the hole fixed that. Put everything together and... 09 grand caravan se 3.3l no crank

Rear End Swap

Hello, I'm new here, and I really hope I'm posting this question correctly. My 2002 Ram 1500 4x4, has been plagued with rear end problems due to my use of it as a hard working company truck. Recently I came across A nearly new complete rear end out of what i was told a 2004 ram 1500 4x4. Turns out it was a 2wd rear end. when i checked the specs, and did a comparison, I found this info; The 2wd is a 2.38 w/ 3.55 axle. Mine read 2.45 w/ 3.55 axle. 4.7l Cam and crank sensor issues.

Quick story time, Last winter we had the head gaskets go after an overheat, Replaced the head gaskets, Lifters, Rockers, Valve seals, tensioners/guides, and chains replaced, Currently at 297k miles. The issue is that now I'm getting a p0016 code along with a p0344 and they do come back after a code clear, the 344/340 code has been there for a while replaced the cam sensor 2 times, and no change and know it's related to the TSB for software on the PCM just don't want to go to the dealer... 4.7l Cam and crank sensor issues.

rack and pinion on a 3500 5 speed w/v10

Hey guys, I'm considering some options for my '96 Ram 3500 dually 5 speed tranny w/ V10. 1) changing gearing in front and rear diffs, 4.11 for 3.73 2) leaving the 4.11 and installing a gear bender 3) going to 3.73 and installing a gear bender I would appreciate any feedback you can give me. Thanks

Battery voltage

I can't find the battery voltage readout in my gauge cluster just shows the needle gauge. I have the 7" display as well. Anyone know if I don't have it or how to find it I went through all the settings in the display.

2017 dodge caravan heat issue

2017 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6L Two issues probably related. 1. Over heats, but not consistently. Our driver says on steep grades with either A/C (understandable) or Heater (weird) on it will get very hot (needle at very top of range). Even on days with cool (40's) outside temps. I can't seem to make it do it when I drive it. 2. Heat both front and rear don't always work. Fan always works but sometimes air is cold both font and rear. door key

Hey All, Don't really feel like spending money to get a new remote. I have one working key to get in the door. I can get keys made to work in the ignition however, they do not work in the door. I have one remote with the key, works in the ignition but not in the door. Locksmiths want anywhere from 39 to 99 dollars to cut a key to get in the door. I was told my key was not a transponder key, its the black one. Thoughts? Or should I just stop being a cheapo and get the new remote. I have... door key

Spare Tire

I have a 2017 Grand Caravan Se Plus Blacktop model. It did not come with a spare tire but instead a bottle of "snot' & a air compressor. I've been warned not to use it to repair a flat tire as it will ruin the tire pressure sensor and be a mess when removing the tire from the rim. I would like to use a full size tire (225/65R17) & rim combination for a spare tire. On page 140 of the user guide it states the winch mechanism is designed to stow a compact spare tire only. Cabin filter

Howdy all, I have an 03 B3500 and I need some help with the "cabin filter". Looking at the floor vent on the pass side, I can see a foam style filter. I wold like to replace it or at least wash it. On my most recent trip, it was very windy and it blew so much dirt and sand that it ruined the dash speaker on the passenger side. Any idea how to access this thing?

Recently my 01 1500 sport started having transmission issue where shifting is delayed to almost 4000rpm but other time I drive it it's fine, so it's off and on and It has about 150k for miles, I was thinking tranny filter and or solenoid? Any other ideas? Yes it has fluid

Hello, Just looking for information on a block heater for my 2014 Dodge Ram big horn 1500. This is not a desiel, I have looked almost everywhere for the price. I cannot find mine (most likely not there) with the manual. Any help appretiated. Mn winters can get cold.

1955 Dodge Truck

Good day to you. recently bought a 1954 Dodge Truck, as year was advertised in Sale Ad. Turns out that the truck is a 55. No biggie. Solid truck, no dents, original paint and maybe a square foot of surface rust. Truck runs and drives great. Even though the truck is 99% original. I'm lost in trying to identify parts, engine size (6) and finding any useful help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

07 Dodge Magnum 2.7 V6/I made a big mistake

I installed a new battery backwards and cause a few problems. I've changed the alternator, changed one blown fuse, checked all other fuses including the IOD and couldn't find nothing. Car will crank and run but wipers, high beams, radio, door locks, and turn signals don't work. Any suggestions. Only other thing I can think of after doing some research is the FCM or SCM. Is there anything else I should check before attempting to do so?

2007 Charger 3.5L will not heat

I replaced the thermostat, bled the system,and checked the heater core with garden hose test, water runs through it fine. It doesn't overheat, the AC blows cold, but will not blow warm air at all! I'm at a loss, any guidance would be much appreciated.

Help! P0344 & P0335

Good Evening! I have a 2011 RAM 1500, SLT, Crew Cab, 4WD with a 5.7L hemi. I keep pulling the P0344 and P0335 codes despite having already replaced both the camshaft positioning sensor, crankshaft positioning sensor, spark plugs, and now the VVT solenoid. Do any of you have any other advise regarding what else I should replace to resolve the issue? The engine isn't misfiring either and sounds good. There is no Hemi tick or other underlying issues regarding that. Any advice/insight would... Help! P0344 & P0335

Injector leak

99 stratus 2.5l es, had 4 of 6 injectors leaking at the injector to fuel rail O rings. Replaced all 4 once, then two were still leaking, replaced those two again. All seemed fine for awhile (a week or so), now two of them are leaking again (dripping from under car). Note: all work is being done outside in the cold here in Alaska. Any ideas why they keep leaking, or suggestions on how to make the repair stick would be awesome. Thank you all. Pissed off, Alaska

The harness I have isn't that bad, the vehicle starts and runs with relatively minor bugs but the idea of going to the trouble of improving everything else seems pointless if after "going to all the trouble", some gauges won't work, some lights wont work..... I've been seeing guys marketing wiring courses using modern methods and braided sleeve jacketing materials. Pretty slick looking... Old wiring woes....

Hello all, I have a 2007 Ram 1500 St with 4.7L flex fuel. I've own this truck since it had 37k. Currently it has 243k miles. I drive 160 miles per day on her for work. I don't haul anything heavy but I can tell my trans is getting weak. I've heard of guys getting 300k but they usually are driving Cummins and not a 4.7L. I change my oil and I use synthetic 10w30. I know this engine requires 5w20 but my theory was full size Ram needed better lubrication. I have no blow by or oil usage. What's... How many miles before I am looking at a rebuild?
